Kim Rathman
Director of Development
Kim Rathman joined Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest as the Director of Development in April of 2026 and brings more than 40 years of experience in fundraising, organizational development, and strategic planning to the agency. Dr. Rathman is part of the Fund Development Department’s team and provides direction for annual fundraising efforts, while helping to strengthen relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community partners to ensure long-term financial sustainability. Through the years, she has worked with numerous nonprofits, anti-poverty organizations and education institutions including California State University, Los Angeles, Mount St. Mary’s University, Family Connects International (Duke University), St. Vincent de Paul, Kidspace Children’s Museum, Rose Bowl – Legacy Connections and the Pascua Yaqui and Yurok Tribes. She holds a doctorate in Ethics and Public Policy from the cooperative program between the Graduate Theological Union and the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Divinity in Religion and Society from Union Theological Seminary, New York, an honors diploma in International Law and Policy from the University of Vienna in Austria and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from the College of Idaho.
