Put your best foot forward with families in crisis this Christmas.

This embodies the spirit of Christmas. I am certainly happy you are doing it!

This Christmas, we want EVERY one of the 500 parents and children in crisis served by LSS-SW to know that they are remembered during the holidays.

Give a parent who has had their children removed from their home the gift of love and confidence with a simple pair of brand new shoes.

Why shoes? Many that we serve live on a tight budget, and don’t splurge on new shoes very often. Your gift means so much more than a pair of shoes. You're saying to parents - "I believe in you. I am rooting for you." When they walk forward through tough times - a court hearing, a job interview, a counseling appointment - you'll be walking with them.

Thank you for helping parents and children in crisis put their Best Foot Forward this Christmas.

How to help:

  • Host a drive in your congregation, school, workplace, or community. Download a flyer to get started. Fill out this form to let us know about your drive so that we can include you in our planning. (Perfect for Thrivent Action Teams, Scouts, and other community groups!)

  • Make sure and snap a picture with the shoes you collected so we can share on social media. Share with us.

  • Purchase a pair of new shoes and deliver or ship to our administrative offices by December 6. Fill out this form to let us know so we can include you in our planning.

  • Make a financial gift toward purchasing and we will do so on your behalf. (This also helps us purchase less popular sizes so everybody can find the right fit.)

Important notes:

  • Because this is a Christmas gift, please donate only new shoes. We are unable to accept used shoe donations at this time.

  • Shoes will be worn by adults and children of all ages (Infant, Toddler, Elementary, Teens, Women, and Men.) Comfortable and casual shoes, including sneakers, are more highly requested than formal shoes.

  • If we exceed our goal, your shoe donation may also be given to participants in need across all LSS-SW programs (including older adults, people with disabilities, refugees, and people in homelessness.)
