Join us this fall

This September, you are invited to join the biggest “God’s Work. Our hands.” movement that Arizona has ever seen.  Our goal is to raise 2,000 bags, buckets, and boxes for men, women, and children in need across Arizona. But we can’t do it without you.

What is "God's Work. Our Hands?"
An annual day of service (this year 9.11.16) hosted by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America where thousands of people come together to build better communities.

How can we partner with LSS-SW?
Every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life, flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God's grace. You wouldn't call things like bags, buckets, and boxes "special" but many of our Arizona neighbors don't need anything special. They are looking to meet their most basic needs every day.

Our goal is to serve 2,000 neighbors in need on September 11, 2016 by collecting bags, buckets, and boxes filled with the essentials that are so meaningful to them. The donations will be distributed to women experiencing homelessness, food pantry visitors, refugee families, foster children, family resource center visitors, and older adults.

“Thank you, thank you. This is the first gift I have received since my father gave me one years ago. This is special and I will cherish this moment as I do my father’s memory.”

- Tammy, towel drive recipient in Sierra Vista

Who can participate?
Any house of worship, community group, or individual is welcome to host their own project! We will provide materials free of the "God's Work. Our Hands." branding to be inclusive of all backgrounds.

How do I get started?

Let us know that you are interested in hosting a "God's Work. Our Hands." project  by completing the form below.

“Every week during Lent we announced the drive and what we called “rolling celebrations.” We had a group of 7-9 who meet twice a week to roll and adorn the towels with ribbons. There was real fellowship between and among these ladies. They would call me to make sure of the date and time. They each said that they “had fun” and met other women they would have never met otherwise and have met outside this activity. I thank God that I had the opportunity to be involved in such a unique and phenomenal mission.”
