Emmanuel Lutheran Church Hosts Fundraiser for Prescott Counseling Center
By Holly-Brown Sisson, Director of Counseling Services
On September 16, 2007, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, http://www.emmanuelpv.org , in Prescott Valley, AZ hosted a golf tournament to raise funds for Lutheran Social Services’ Satellite Counseling Center, housed at Trinity Lutheran Church, http://www.tlcpv.org., Prescott Valley. Tournament organizers Pastor Kirk Anderson, Betty Barker, John Bruns, Skip Clark, local Thrivent representative, Jerry McIntyre, Nancy McIntyre, Suzanne Rollis, Tom Rollis, and Casey Rooney raised a total of $13,500 which will help us increase the center’s hours in 2008.
Even if it was just one hole to be played, supporters came out for the worthy cause,

In the fall of 2006, Trinity Lutheran Church approached Lutheran Social Services about the rising need for counseling services in their community. A coalition between Trinity Lutheran Church, American Lutheran Church, http://www.americanlutheran.net, and Emmanuel Lutheran Church was formed to consider the need and structure for such a program, to raise funds, and to agree on a proper home for the center. In April 2007, the LSS-SW counseling center opened offering services 10 hours per week. The center provides professional faith-based counseling services to individuals on a sliding fee basis.
Thank you to the Planning Committee for organizing such a successful fund-raising event.

We want to express our heartfelt thank you to our church partners and to all of the volunteers in Prescott and Prescott Valley for their dedication and commitment to helping make this golf tournament so successful. [See related story on Tom Rollis.]
