DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
Prepare to C.A.R.E.
CONGREGATIONS/COMMUNITIES ACTIVELY RESPONDING to EMERGENCIES
LSS-SW uses a dynamic competency-based training program to enable congregations, groups and community organizations to establish effective strategies for preparing and responding to disasters. Whether disaster strikes within their communities or in other parts of the nation, they will learn to prepare to C.A.R.E. Our curriculum integrates written, audio-visual, verbal and hands-on activities to convey information. Our skilled field-instructors and special guest presenters tailor training content to address specific disaster scenarios; geographic, language and the unique cultural differences of each community. There are three separate training modules:
|
|
C.A.R.E. LEVEL 1
Interactive individual and family disaster preparedness training exercises with special emphasis on establishing strategies and acquiring personal C.A.R.E. Survival Kits.

Participants engage in interactive discussions and advanced training exercises that focus on team building and establishing effective strategies for disaster preparedness and response. |

DISASTER RESPONSE
LSS-SW provides professional case management services to disaster survivors. There is special emphasis on helping individuals and families establish their own personal "Long-Term Disaster Recovery Plan." The plan often includes securing resources, spiritual and emotional care, and acquiring financial support from a variety of sources. LSS-SW also works with entire communities to assist in facilitating and establishing long-term disaster recovery committees to help maximize the use of available resources and minimize duplication of services.
