About Us
As we move through life, we are called to respond to the needs of others. In 1970, Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest
(LSS-SW) was established as a multi-service organization. Through the hard work of its staff and volunteers, it continues its commitment to impact people's lives by carrying out the agency's Mission of, "Showing kindness, doing justice, and serving those in need." This hard work and commitment is part of the daily culture of the organization. LSS-SW serves the needs of people throughout our community who may have lost their way, all worldly possessions, their self-respect... their dignity. We serve and advocate for:
|
- the isolated elderly
- disadvantaged children and adults with special needs
- immigrants fleeing torture and terror from nations throughout
the world who need our protection
- people who need help finding a job
|
|
 |
- the working poor who need help feeding their families
- individuals, couples and families in crisis who need help to
heal their wounded hearts
- disaster survivors who have lost everything to fires, floods,
earthquakes and hurricanes

"Help me, Lord, not to turn away from pain
Help me not to rest while those around me weep
Give me your Strength and compassion
When somebody finds the road of life too steep"
